Background - Sabo Font by Philippe Moesch
In this page, I will post weekly posts on what I did
and what I worked on in the Mac Lab.
and what I worked on in the Mac Lab.
- I promise that I will keep up-to-date to everything I do in the Mac Lab and post into my weekly -
(mini)Week 18
Day in Review -
Just a little review for the one day in the Mac Lab(due to finals). So for most of the 2 hours in the Mac lab, I spent working on the image seen below, it's not completed, I'm still adding some details to it and I plan on changing the background color as well. Overall, it looks pretty good(to me). Sadly though, I'm going to a winter break for around 2 weeks so there isn't going to be much weekly reviews until I comeback.

Week 17
Weekly Review
Hoorah for another week. Now for the review, I continued with my daily routine of watching the 411's daily videos then moving on to the project. This week was focuse on Illustrator not because I was working on something but that I needed to prepare the materials for the Color Theory project I have been working on lately. This mostly consist of the circles with the color names all placed in a neat wheel, in order to save some time in After Effects. Just as a little preview, I made a quick color wheel(not perfect of course) just as a little preview, in the background I used the Hotdog technique(Hot dogs in Space) from Nina Geometrieva in her latest article. While I was at Illustrator, I tried to see if I discovered any new tricks or new commands(so far it's just shift+X which just switches colors). Most of my time throughout this week has been focusing on the Color Theory animation, as of right now(right image, Font used is Coves by Jack Harvatt) I am working on the intro sequence, it won't be long, just as I planned, so I'm almost done with it and I can get onto the first color.

Week 17 Self-Assessment
I'm actually glad about this week, I got most work done the Illustrator so it can be transfered to After Effects, I am abotu 90% done with the intro sequence in the Color Theory project. Though I did get a little sidetracked from my work here and there but I manage to get through the trouble.

Self-Guided Learning
Not a lot of quests for tutorial but the tool time quest was a neat and easy one, pretty much reminded that I can get out a tool box for a certain tool I am picking, such as the shapes for example, if I don't want to struggle finding the one I want, I can easily just get it out an select it fast. And of course Mina's mini tutorial on how to make the sausages.
Short-Term Goal
As a little goal, I plane on changing the background o my home page and the Cheat sheet page, as for my progess, not doing so good. I'm starting to think if I should change my schedule in the Mac Lab since most of the time I'm in After Effects. But before I start jumping into conclusions, I need to first think on how I wanted it to look like, I'm thinking of something really simple, not bizarre. Starting in the next few weeks(winter break) I might do a 3-day After Effect focus and on Thursday and Friday I will focus primarily on Illustrator to start working in the backgrounds.
Long-Term Goal
My long term goal will consist the same for the next following weeks, I will be working on the Color theory project I started this week. So far for me it's going out great, I already got the circles and colors made for the animation, now all I need to do is start it. Right now, as I already mentioned, I'm almost done with the intro sequence, just need a few adjustments and then I will start with the first color, red. Though I do need to start planning on how I will demonstrate each color, I'm thinking of making each color their own kind of image(since each color has it's own kind image with it's certain color, take orange for example). What I plan to learn throughout the process is how to make a water like motion in After Effects, I'm going through Youtube to find any useful videos that can guide me.

Week 16
Weekly Review
Lets go over all(almost all) the details of this week. Earlier in this week in the Mac Lab we were presented with a quest called Hot Dogs in Space(ok then...), then there's an additional link(Medium) that brings me to a post by Nina Geometrevia about an illustration she made in Illustrator and Photoshop, a really interesting story, check it out right here. The day it follows, we were presented with the Cheat Sheet, in that includes info on what we must do in our blogs, a way of leaving bread crumbs to let us know what we did throughout the week, and a little small tutorial in Photoshop, as seen in the image below(the one that has 4 additional images inside, top right), we got to learn how to easily outline the images, if you wanna know how check out the quest, it's fast and pretty easy, also mentions about some useful command keys. The same day on the Hotdogs in Space quest, we were also introduced to Adobe Spark, an easy-to-use program that everyone(that has an adobe ID) is invited to use. I had actually used this before in my Spanish class but that's not important right now, this program is really fun to use, the two images(exclude the one in the top left) were made in Spark, fast, easy and looks really neat to use(but that work already came when I opened it, I just moved the text), you can also make a video or a page if you desire. Near the end of the week, I started looking up the color wheel(I will explain why in the Self-Assessment) so I can make one in Illustrator, though it was difficult since there were so many and most of them were different from the original one, I will make sure I provide an image on it after this has been posted since I forgot to add it to my drive. Along with my search I came upon a Color Calculator, a quite useful tool when trying to combine colors, such as how Nina did, it even uses the Color theory rules, such as complementary, analogous, or even triadic, check it out if you can't seem to find a color that will go along a color of your choice, thanks to Sessioncollege for the amazing tool. Also to mention, Envato is doing a 12-day freebie event in their site, if you are interested and would like some freebies, check this link out.
Week 16 Self-Assessment
This week has been nothing but primarily Illustrator, I didn't even get into touch with After Effects. And I have to take the blame of course because I'm not keeping up with my guild title, Motion, which is pretty disheartening. But that shouldn't be a problem since Illustrator can be used to be combined with After Effects, just as I mentioned, I was making a color wheel in Illustrator so that I can imported into After Effects, I just need to make sure each circle or text has it's own layer so that when I animated in After Effects, it isn't stuck with twelve other things. Overall, this week has been Illustrator, but most of the work there won't be included in After Effects(though Nina's design gave me an idea...). Starting next week I need to go back into my regular schedule(Monday - Thursdays: After Effects Friday: The blog and Illustrator).
Great but...(B) - Rubric
Self-Guided Learning
In Nina's post, she includes a step by step tutorial on how to the sausage looking lines in her space illustration. It's quite a clean and simple tutorial she made, if you wanna know how to make, check out the post. Along in this section is the outlines that are shown in Cheat Sheet quest, a pretty small tutorial but can be useful. I will admit I didn't go over many tutorials in this week, those were the only I actually checked out, there were more but I got distracted with Nina's method. I plan on going back to the usual Youtube After Effects tutorials, but I think more than I need, but it's never bad to learn new techniques.
Short-Term Goal
As a short goal, I plan on changing the background of the Home page in my blog, I need to make something that really represents my name(not my actual name!), diamonds in a set of rows won't really do much for me. This can be a useful way to practice some Illustrator skills, so I can improve on techniques. Just like Nina's tutorial, I plan on searching for Illustrator tutorials as well(during my free time of course). That is mainly why I want to make the background a small goal, cause it's fast and it can also help me practice some new skills.
Long-Term Goal
I though long and hard about this one, and I decided that I will be making a Color theory animation, I know that throughout these weeks I kept promising that I will be doing an animation for Elements of Art, but I can't think of anything to do with it, as if my mind suddenly went blank. That's why I decided to work on the Color Theory, I remebered two years ago in the Mac Lab we did a little illustration for the Color theory, I made mine minecraft based(cause the person next to me was also doing it), it consisted of pixelated art of minecraft items. I'm going to stop there since I'm getting a bit sidetracked. Color theory was also something that caught my attention, each color in the wheel represents something, they aren't just colors, they are everything. Color theory is also a way for me to step up my color combining skills(if that's even a thing), I realized that not all colors go together, many design graphic, or motion graphics use the color wheel to help them when making an illustraion/animation. So I am going to make a a small animation on the color wheel, in a way which it will help me understand colors a lot better. I feel a little bad for dropping out the Elements of Art project, but one must move on.

Week 15
Week in Review
This has been a somewhat rapid so this won't be long. I pretty much worked on After Effects and I started thinking, do I really want to keep working on Elements of Art, it's really fun to do I have to be honest but I just can't think of an idea on how th animation will work out. I'm not sure if I want to continue or not is what I am saying, I have been really leaning to Color Theory, I do have a somewhat good amount of ideas for that project but I will see. Mostly during this week I was working on this tutorial about that has to do with a sort slot machine mechanic to it, more like how to make something look like a slot machine. A really interesting video, I wonder how I plan to put that in a project but I will figure out something.
Week 15 Self-Assessment
I was pretty active throughout this week I have to admit, I worked along with certain tutorials and learned more throughout my journey through After Effects. What I mostly like to do is look up After Effect tutorials since it's really fascinating seeing the finish product, though it's not perfect, but with time and patience, and can look outstanding. Though I was really off topic this weekend, I did plan early on finishing this post but homework got into my mind as well as my own phone(though that's irrelevant). Pretty much I forgot to post on time, I gotta make sure I keep a schedule so that I can do what during certain days.
Are you kidding me? - (Rubric)
Self-Guided Learning
As I mentioned in the review, I learned this really neat tutorial on how to create somewhat of a slot machine motion graphic in After Effects. Thanks to Caleb Lancaster for his amazing tutorial on slot machine. Lynda has been a great place for the common basics of After Effects but it's time to step it up a notch.
Short-Term Goal
As always, I plan on making a background on my blog, something pretty basic of course, not too much detail, and also I plan on keep my small schedule, Monday - Thursday I focus on After Effects, and on Friday I focus on my blog and Illustrator.
Long-Term Goal
I plan on changing my long-term goal, I think I might start doing Color Theory instead of Elements of Art, not because of time, but that I think I will have a easier time coming with a better idea on how I will set up the entire animation.

Week 14
Week in Review
This has been an interesting week for me. Still haven't updated on the project(sadly), still stuck in the intro, mainly because I've been doing other stuff in the Mac Lab. I've been getting into Illustrator a lot, because I've been trying to work out the background for the "My Work" page in this blog, in addition to the quests, where I learn new skills in Illustrator. I have to admit, I am a bit of a procrastinator, I tend to do stuff at the very end, which is not good, so I really got to improve myself. Right now, I'm trying to look for inspiration, how I want everything to settle out in this animation, during break I plan on watching some videos to help inspire me, hopefully I get something out of it.
Week 14 Self-Assessment
I didn't get much done I will admit, I reached the Mac Lab in time and all, but I haven't been productive. I know I keep saying this and I say that I will change but I never did. It's time I really put my foot down and actually do some work. I decided to put my own little schedule so that I can at least be organized. Monday to Thursday, I will focus primarily on After Effects, unless there is something that requires me to use Illustrator, then on Friday, I will focus on illustrator and this blog.
Great but...(B) (rubric)
Self-Guided Learning
Even thoug I was working on Illustrator, I did head on over to After Effects to learn this new tutorial that I almost forgot about. The tutorial I am talking about is the rotating text video, made by Video School Online. The tutorial itself was really helpful, as you can see below, in the left image I'm just practicing with the rotation, not much for now, but later it will improve.
Short-Term Goal
Get the intro of my project done at least, like last week, STILL planning what I will introduce. Now that I think of it, since I'm not a professional in After Effects, the intro won't be amazing, so I will just go with something simple.
Long-Term Goal
Finish this project of mine, I feel like it's been repeated man and many times, but animating isn't easy, many of you know that(obviously). And this will take some time, that's why I will focus four days into After Effects, in addition to finishing the background of "My Work" page. The problem with me is that I need motivation, or something to inspire me, cause I trying to come up with ideas on both of these works.

Week 13
Week in Review
Well let's wrap this up. This was a really good productive week for me, I actually started to work on the EoA(Elements of Art) project that I was planning on to do. As seen in the image below(right image), I'm barely starting on the intro, still have no idea on how I will start this but I will get there(eventually). And as seen above of this page, I finally made an image for "Weekly". At first I didn't know what to do for "Weekly," but when I saw the Sabo Font by Philippe Moesch, I just realized it shouldn't be something I should overthink about, so I made a square with rounded edges, put a number with a Sabo font, and just went with whatever was on my mind, and that's how it came alive.
Week 13 Self-Assessment
I'm glad to say that I did something productive this week, started on my project, made an image for my background on "Weekly," reached the Mac Lab in time and started to work. Made sure I was concentrated on what I was working on and let nothing distract me(unless someone needs help). But as much as I would like to so I earned an "A", I uploaded this post late, quite a bummer actually. Main reason I forgot was that I was spending time with family, doing certain events to celebrate a family member's birthday, and my mind went off from there. so...

Self-Guided Learning
Didn't really do much in this area, focused mainly on my work. I realized if I keep watching tutorials, I'm just going to be distracted from my actual work. Though I really like learning new techniques, I have to focus more on my work, and I pretty much got the basics down. How to make the 2D shadows, reveal, and moving objects(lynda of course), though there is one video I still need to watch that I found interesting, forgot what it was called but will hopefully find it again.
Short-Term Goal
I plan on working on the intro of the EoA project, still drawing out the plan in my head, almost have an idea, the image below is just me experimenting with text. Along with that, make the background for the "My Work" page, still having trouble on what it should be something will come up.
Long-Term Goal
For this goal, i plan on working, you guessed it, the EoA project. I really need to think of ideas of what my intro should be, but what I said in the, I should't over think it. I'm barely a beginner in After Effects, I can't make amazing animations like Art Heroes(for example - video)

Week 12
Week in Review
3 months already in the Mac Lab. Nothing much(again...) but learn new tricks in the Mac Lab. As usual, I went and watch tutorials on After Effect, watched another tutorial on shadows, this time by another creator named Mikey, who taught how to make long shadows, last week I did learn how to make shadows, but the difference is that they weren't parallel. One method is quick and easy, the other takes longer but I can have a better control on the shadows. In addition, I learned how to morph objects, halfway through the video, but it's going pretty good, thanks to MoBox for the amazing tutorial. Overall, that's pretty much what I have been doing throughout this week.
Week 12 Self-Assessment
Dang, am I good at procrastinating or what? In all honesty, I just couldn't stop watching one tutorial about After Effects, so I kept on going. But I am going to have to set my foot down since 3 months had already passed, and no progress has been made. By this point, I'm not even sure if I will start the EoA(Elements of Art) project. All I know is that I did learn some new techniques, but haven't even shown them.

Continued on with After Effect tutorials, but I got a little curious, After learning how to make shadows in After Effects, I did to learn how to make them in Illustrator. At first I thought it was going to be a long process, but thanks to Justin Seeley, he made it look so simple, thanks to his 5 minute tutorial, I easily learned how to make a shadow in Illustrator. Shown in the bottom right image, I decided to test it our and sure enough, it looks pretty clean.
Short-Term Goal
I can't really depict on what I would want for the background of my Weekly page and the My Work page, and I'm not even sure if I should keep up the Work page since nothing has been uploaded there. So for a short goal, I plan on fixing this blog and stop using the stock images this website provides.
Long-Term Goal
Same as usual, work on that EoA project I had planned(3 months ago), but I feel more confident on making this with the new skills I'm obtaining. The end result may not be perfect, but it will show what I learned. Making this project is going to take time, so I plan on using any free time I have and dedicate it to this(lunch seems reasonable, hopefully that person who shuts down the computer 6 minutes before the actual bell rings doesn't show up while I work, cause the last time my progress didn't save).

Week 11
Week in Review
Week 11.....already? Well as for this week, I was pretty busy with watching tutorials throughout this week. Most of these tutorials consisted on After Effects(of course), and they are quite useful, and very helpful. I also tried to upload a gif in this website, but I was unlucky, so I plan on watching tutorials on how to do it at home so my time isn't wasted in the Mac Lab. So instead, i just uploaded the animation on Youtube, and as you can see in the animation below, that's what I've been learning for a couple of days(while I was working on this, someone had the bright idea to shut off all the computers but, hey, at least I finished it). I would like to thank ECABrams for the amazing tutorial, "Text on a Path." I plan on using these skills on my Elements of Art project. In addition, I will be learning how to make shadows in After Effects, So far it's going pretty good. The font I used in the video is the Canter Font by Christopher JH Lee and the shadow image was the NOIR Font by Matthias Guggisberg.
Week 11 Self-Assessment
I was pretty happy for what I had learned so far this week. I learned new techniques, new strategies, all in which can help me make the EoA(Elements of Art) project look a lot nice than the last one I made in 2015. Though I doubt I will reach the level of excellence in this video(by Art Heroes). Anyhow, I managed to get an animation, not a whole big deal, but it made me pretty happy about it since it was something I never knew how to do. I'm sadden that Lynda isn't allowing me back into my account, but it helped me look for new opportunities.

Since lynda denies my access, I went to YouTube to find tutorials on after effects, Learned not a whole lot, but missed out the most easiest tutorials I could've watched. The video I made(below under imagery 11) was from a tutorial from ECAbrams, called "Text on a Path," it's videos like these that show what I have been missing out. And after I finished, I went on to learn how to make 2D shadows, at first I thought it was going to be a long process, but it's easier than it looks, thanks to VihnSon Nguyen, his easy 7-minute tutorial easily taught me how to make 2D shadows in After Effects.
Short-Term Goal
I plan on making a few changes on this blog, first off, update the "My Work" page, since there are barely any images there, and I have to make a quick and easy background for the this and the "My Work" page, since it's just a person's hand on a keyboard(looks good thought).
Long-Term Goal
As last week and the week before, I plan on working one the EoA project. Hopefully I can actually get it started, because the last 3 weeks, I just made the composition, that's it. So I really need to get started because if I keep procrastinating, I gonna be working on this a month before school ends. Gladly though, I'm learning new skills through out the days, so at least I know what to do for the project.

Week 10
Week in Review
Now let's start off with what I worked on. In week 10, there was two tutorials on Photoshop called Compositing Primer and Scan Lines Demo, really useful techniques that I plan to use somewhere around the future. After watching these videos, I made the image that is below(right image), really happy how it came out, but I did watch a tutorial. Other than that, I continued my progress on working on the EoA project, I forgot to take a screen pic, by next week I will make sure I have at least an image of it. As of right now, I haven't done much, I am still trying to figure out how I should start this video, so there's that, so I am going through YouTube to explore more options on how to make my animation more interesting than last year.
Week 10 Self-Assessment
I am ashamed that I haven't even started working on the intro of my project, I only made some ideas, but that isn't good enough. I have been working very well throughout this week, but I have to keep up with my deal and start working on the animation. If I keep getting distracted, I will end up feeling pressured because I will not have enough time to finish up that animation.

I went over and searched in You Tube for After Effect tutorials on typography, and I found a pretty interesting one. Animate Text On A Path was a tutorial made by ECAbrams, this was a really helpful tutorial(even though this was made in 2013), and I have already planned out what I am going to use it for. I also tried going to Lynda to see if Ian Robinson had any videos that worked on that specific topic. Sadly though, on Thursday, the website wouldn't let me access my account(which is why I went to You tube), on Friday, they sent out a message on their page(orange text box image below) which was the main reason why I couldn't access my account, hopefully by now they have fixed everything.
Short-term Goal
I'm still thinking on what I should design for the backgrounds of my pages, I also plan on fixing some things in this blogs, such as keep up to date in the My Work page. So basically, design the backgrounds of my pages, and update on a few things in this blog. I tried putting in my logo in the header, but I confronted many issues trying to make it fit in, so that's another item on my list.
Long-term Goal
For this, it's going to be the same as usual, work on the EoA(Elements of Art) project I have in mind. The main reason I wanna work on this was because I never got to finish Principles of Design animation. So a long term goal, I want to make a new and improved EoA and a finished PoD. It's going to take immense time to make both of these, so I plan on working on these during lunch as well, even though it's 30 minutes, I gotta make the most out of it.

Week In review
Another review here in the Mac Lab, same as usual, I kept watching the Lynda videos on after effects. During this week, I was just trying out After Effects, almost getting the hang of it, I also started a new composition so I can start with EoA(Elements of Art). I was thinking if I should do it in 3D, but that would mean that I need to watch another set of videos on how to animate in 3D, Ian Robinson does provide this in his videos, but only a small portion, not only that but rendering it takes a much longer process. Though it's really useful when it comes to animating text in 3D. Along with that I also started working on my friend's background, I usually work on this during lunch in order to use most of my time in the Mac Lab animating.
Week 09 Self-Assessment
I have been a little more productive this week. I managed to get a good amount of work done for my friend's background. I also been getting the hang of After effects, just need to watch a few more vids in order for me to work work on this EoA project. Though for getting started on the project, I only made the composition, this could've been a perfect time to work on this, yet I focused to much on the videos animating something else.

Plain as usual, but also interesting. Watched more tutorials on After Effects made by Ian Robinson, so that, of course, I can get the hang on using After Effects. In section 3 of this tutorial, I ended at "Using Track Mattes." Long story short, teaches you how to make objects or text appear in a certain area, for example, if I make a track matte of a square, being the parent of a text, the text will only appear only inside that invisible square, not anywhere else of the panel. I also watched a quick little video on Photoshop(Feed your Imagination), which I find useful since Photoshop is also another animating program.
Short-Term Goal
Making an animation is actually going to take some time, so I'm not even sure if making my logo an animation is a short-term goal, so instead, I will go back to the usual and just make a quick background for my pages in this blog. This week I plan to work on them during lunch once I finish with my friend's background.
Long-Term Goal
I plan on working on EoA(Elements of Art) in after effects, as a project of course, in order to move on PoD(Principle of Design). Though the only thing I started with was just a new composition, which isn't much(obviously), so I plan on working in this project while watching any tutorial to remind on how to use a specific tool. That way, I can actually get some progress. This video might be a minute or more, it doesn't look like it's much, but dang, trying to get everything right sure is difficult, since after effects also depends on Illustrator.

Week 8
Week In review
Weeks sure do go by fast, anyhow, for my overview for this week. After 8 whole weeks, I have finally joined the motion guild, in which I can start practicing on how to animate. As of this week, I went straight to After Effect since it was a program I practiced with last year in the Mac Lab. I am taking more tutorials in lynda.com on using After Effects, even going the first section of the tutorial to remember some of the steps I had forgotten. Overall, I just practiced a bit in After Effects to refresh my memory. And as for the images below, the right one is just the tutorials that can be found in lynda, and the left was me just practicing in After Effects.
Week 08 Self-Assessment
As most of the weeks, I didn't do much, I still need to improve on what I work on here in the Mac Lab. Since animating is a time consuming process, I will try to join in during any break I have to go in the Mac Lab and do some work. A friend of mine wants me to make a background for his blog, see I plan going there with him to see what I can work on. As for my grade....(another)Great but..."B"(Rubric)

As much as I have been waiting, I went back to good old lynda, watching tutorials made by Ian Robinson, on how to animate in After Effects. He makes really amazing tutorials, and if you plan to be a motion graphics designer, I'd recommend checking him out. I went from the start then skipped around through the videos I already watched, such as animating in 3D, compositions, power of the parent, all that kind of stuff. This way, it can help me refresh my mind on how to use After Effects.
Short-Term Goal
Now that I have access to After Effects, I plan to make a short tiny animation on my logo, isn't going to be much but I really can use this as a way to practice animating. Still though, I need to finish the backgrounds of the pages in my blog. So for right now, work on backgrounds then work in the animation.
Long-Term Goal
As for this goal, I plan to make an animation on Elements of Art and Principles of Design, in order to help people get the idea on how these two work. I was mainly inspired by the two videos(EoA & PoD) by Art heroes(who are very talented people). And after watching those two videos, I always wanted to make my own. This is going t take a lot of time to finish, but I know it will be worth it(hopefully...).

Week 7
Week in Review
Yet another week in the Mac Lab, with a bit of progression. This week, a few more quests had been added to the POD page in the Mac Lab, mostly focusing on organizing ones own work space so that it's easier when creating illustrations. And as daily thing for me, I went over and watched and followed the steps in the video. But before that, I went and worked on the final touches of my logo(bottom image), so far it's looking good but I still need it to get approved(Font used - Moon Font by Jack Harvett). As of now, I am seeing if I can add additional tweaks to it, make it pop out a little more. Other than that, I thinking that I should start joining the motion guild so that I can finally get started on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design project early.
Week 07 Self-Assessment
I finally finished working on my logo, took longer than I imagined, but it's done, for now. Though it was the only one I completed, I still could've worked on more projects, such as the banned books week button. I still need to do more projects in order to improve my skills in illustrator. Week 6
Week in Review
A tiring, yet exciting week in the Mac Lab. As for what I did, really wasn't much but just followed through the new quests that been added in POD page. But I also started to notice that I haven't been really productive throughout these weeks. I only have been following the quests will help me better understand how to use Illustrator more efficiently. But I haven't spread out to different quests in which I can not only learn more about Illustrator but also Photoshop. I haven't even made the backgrounds for the other pages in my blog, which I promised I would do but haven't done it. As for right now, I am still working on my logo, just trying to make the design. I would like to thank Jack Harvatt for the amazing Moon font he made. Aside from that, I should really start looking for different paths to learn more in the Mac Lab, and I want to start join the Motion guild, I have the gold, but I want to finish designing my logo first before I can join the guild so I don't get sidetracked. From now on, I have to try my best to be a bit more productive from here on out.
Week 06 Self-Assessment
Wasn't so good with working on projects, considering that I haven't even started any projects, other than my logo, but successfully learned new tricks in Illustrator, like using the pen tool, and how guides can make designing easier and simpler. I also have made progress in making my logo, but I'm still making changes, trying to find that perfect design, just as my english teacher showed us on the board," To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often." - Winston Churchill. So for this week, I will give myself - "B" Great but...(Rubric)

Also looked at the new rules for the early bird, being tardy and null, and the bell to bell. But I mainly was focusing on the videos on Illustrator. I should also start seeking other places were I can learn to use Illustrator, such as in Lynda.com.
Short-Term Goal
As for a short goal, in which I know that I will complete, I will finish the logo design that I am making for my username, in order for that to happen, I will make sure that I focus on what I really want as my design, and that hopefully once I am done, I can start joining the motion guild in order to learn more on how to use After Effects.
Long-Term Goal
My long term goal is to to work on a animation for both Elements of Art and Principles of Design, last year in the Mac Lab, I only managed to finish only the Elements of Art animation, but I couldn't finish the Principles of Design, and I feel that now that I have somewhat more knowledge on using After Effects, I could get a better head start on finishing those animations, but still, it's always good to go back at Lynda.com to get more experience on using After Effects.

Week 5
Week in Review
This has been a fast week but I will get to the point. What I did in the Mac Lab isn't much but I am working on something. In the bottom right of imagery, you can see I left a trace of my current progress on my a new logo for my username. As mentioned in the quest, Logo Type Intro, it is best to leave breadcrumbs to show the progress of your logo. And I also redesigned the fonts & resources image(left image - Bebas Neue Font) for the resources page. Other than that, I just followed through the week, watched the daily videos, and continued with my work
Week 05 Self-Assessment
As always, I still need to be a bit more progressive, I only manage to finish one thing, but at least I kept on going with the quests and the videos. Getting closer and closer to entering my guild. Great But...("B" - Rubric)

Week 4
Week in Review
This wasn't much of a productive week but I will still what I did in the Mac Lab. In the first day of this week, my schedule got changed, so now I have Mac Lab for period 5. Wasn't much of a big deal. AS for what I did in here, I just kept working on the illustrator quests on the POD page. In the Gathering your Resources quest, I stopped right there and skipped over as it required me to not complete it until it has been finished. So for right now, I'm in the LogoType intro quest. And in addition, made some images, first one(left) for my background an the other(right) for my new page, Resources(Font used - Bebas Neue). But I will make an update for it, just going to change a few stuff and center the red into the middle.
Week 04 Self-Assessment
Just as always, I followed instructions, followed through the steps, and make sure that everything is exactly, or somewhat exactly, as the Boss. But I did get a little distracted just making these 2 images, I will make sure I focus more on the quests. Great but...(B) - Rubric
Self-Guided Learning
Just as I mentioned, I followed through the videos in the Illustrator section, such as for Tracking, Leading, and Kerning. To make sure my typography skills are doing okay.
Short-Term Goal
Make my logo for my blog and username, and change the backgrounds of this blog into my own original work.
Long-Term Goal
Work my way up to earn enough honor in order to join the motion guild so that I can get back into animating again.

Week 3
Week in Review
This was an interesting week, especially with the 2 minimum days we had. Any how, as for what I did in the Mac lab, I kept on working through the videos in the POD page. As for right now, I'm at the Illustrator section, making my own desktop pic(dPic). The image below my current background, honestly it really isn't much, just used a font and put in the middle of the illustration, not much. I mainly did it so I can try out the Coves font, which was made by Jack Harvatt, you should go check him out.
Week 03 Self-Assessment
I did work along with videos, I followed instructions, I made at LEAST a background for my computer. So far so good, but I did get a bit sidetracked by another project I was working, need to make sure I don't focus to much into it.(Great but... - "B", Rubric)
Self-Guided Learning
I just continued where I left off in the Illustrator quest in the POD page. I left off at the the dPic quest and worked my way until Type Alignment. Overall it was just me watching tutorials on how to use Illustrastor more efficiently.
Short-Term Goal
Hopefully make a new BG for this blog, in which I make in Illustrator, and also make a new logo for this blog site.
Long-Term Goal
Save enough gold to exchange for honor in order to the motion guild so that I can start practicing on making animations.

Week 2
Week in Review
For this week's review, I had been working on this blog for most of this time, I also finished doing making my gravatar in the Mac Lab. Not much but it will do for now. Hopefully in the later futrue I can make a decent that will fit with my name. Overall, all I mostly did was work on this new blog and check how it works.
Week 02 Self-Assessment
I have to admit, I could have done more work to this blog, so far I only have the weekly page active, still need to finish the other pages. Not only that but I do need to start earning those bell to bell bonuses in order to achieve my long term goal. C - No second Effort
(Rubric)
Self-Guided Learning
There wasn't much of learning, other than the Edit you Profile quest. Good thing I changed the address from my old blog to this.
Short-Term Goal
Same as last week(only applying to this blog though), i plan to change the title and the background with an original artwork that I made in Illustrator.
Long-Term Goal
Before I reach last week's long term goal, I will try and earn enough honor in order to enter into the motion guild so I can start up with animations again.

Week 1
Week in Review
First week of school went by pretty well. As for what I did in the Mac Lab was not much, most of the time was just setting up my account and getting everything set for my journey in the Mac Lab. Most of the time I was in the week 1 of 411, watching the videos to get started. For now, I don't have any images to display. just so there is alteast some imagery, I will put my old logo that I had last year.
Week 01 Self-Assessment
I don't know what I would grade myself for since there wasn't much activity I did in the Mac Lab. But as for listening to the rules, I"m pretty sure I did well. This week I would give myself:
